Zippers

Zippers and me just don't get along.  I make a lot of things with zippers and it's always a difficult process.  I really dislike sewing in zippers.  I make more mistakes with them....than with anything else.  If anyone out there has any helpful ideas or shortcuts.....Please let me know!!!  Send me pictures, email me whatever it takes.  I'm in need of HELP!!

Now that I have that out of my system.....I need CHOCOLATE!!!  I'm all out in my house, which is Very Unusual.  I think I need some IKEA chocolate.....have you ever tried it?  It's REAL CHOCOLATE!  If you haven't tried it, you should.  It's a good thing IKEA is a 20 minute drive, or I would be there more, for my favorite treat.  It's really cheap too!  And straight from Germany....Yummy!  I think I'll be going on a drive today.......okay, maybe I'll be going tomorrow.  No sense in making two trips in an Excursion that gets 10 miles  per gallon.  Bummer!!  I'll get my chocolate tomorrow.  So I'll just settle for Dove Chocolate today.

I Made It Myself

I'm so excited to participate in this weeks.....I Made It Myself from the Crafty Conservative.  I'm introducing my Stroller Mommy Bag.

I designed this bag for diapers, wipes, and other personal items. I wanted a cute diaper bag I could hook to my stroller. I didn't want it to look like a diaper bag but on the other hand I wanted it to hold what I needed.

A long 15" strap(hook included) clips to the zipper for a wristlet look and making it easy to attach to a stroller.

You can find this Stroller Bag in my Etsy shop.  I'll be making more of these in boy colors and more bold colors. 

I made this for today....it's one of my colorful and bold stroller bags.  It's the same size just with an 11.5" strap.  Check out my shop for more pictures.

Sewing Machines

I'm so excited to say.....I have a sewing machine that works!!!

I called Nuttalls' Sewing Center(in Riverton) yesterday.......to see if they could help me with my Bernina.  I explained what was wrong and he said bring it in.  So I did!!!!  Now get this.....he's teaching a class and fixing my sewing machine.  He takes the bobbin out and says....it's your bobbin, it's too loose, fixes it, tests it and I'm on my way.  Needless to say, I'll be going back to that place soon.  No Charge, nothing, just friendly HELP!  I dropped off the Bernina....the cabin sewing machine, and the Baby Lock Serger too.  The lady there said they'll come back like new......okay, I LOVE this place.  They have a sale Saturday morning, I'll be there!

I can't wait to start sewing!!!:):)

New Products

I've been making so many new things......I love sewing!   With that said....I'll tell you my story of the 3 sewing machines. 

First,  I had been sewing a lot three weeks ago.  My Kenmore started acting up....stopping when I was sewing, beeping at me, etc.  I thought I was in trouble....for one,  I had a boutique to do in two weeks and we would be spending a week at our cabin.  I had a solution.  There's a Bernina at the cabin, I'll just use that!  Wrong!  I was able to make a couple things before the tensions gave me trouble and I had to stop.  It's now waiting to go into the shop.  Next,  We came home from the cabin and I thought I would use my mother-n-laws Bernina.  I thought I was saved!  Wrong!  Don't get me wrong....I was so thankful to be able to use the machine, it just didn't feel the same about me.  Bernina's are my fav for sure, I just couldn't get the tension right, again!  Even with the problems I had with the Berninas, I still love them.  So quiet and smooth.  I was able to sew a few things in that week before my boutique,  I was so stressed(ask my hubby, he'll tell ya!)  Soooooo, I decided to get A Lot of stuff out of my sisters shop......she does nails, At Your Fingertips Salon....that's my plug for her.  I've been selling through her shop for a couple months....and that was good since I needed my inventory.  My spot is very empty now.....:(......Anyway,  I finally made it to my boutique and it worked out just fine.   I'm waiting for my Kenmore to be fixed and I'm still trying to sew with the Bernina......sewing is my addiction, oh yeah, and diet Pepsi!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it:)

I've really gotten into Aprons. I made this one just for my Yard Sale on Saturday. It is soooo cuuute! I had so many compliments on it, I decided to make more. I've also made Hostess Aprons...I'll be adding those to my shop soon.

New Label

Thursday is the Day!!!!  I'll be flying into Las Vegas!!!!  My Hubby is already there for work.....so I'm going to meet him and we'll stay in Las Vegas then St. George, Ceder City and so on up to West Jordan, Utah.  I'm so Excited!!  A mini vacation with just the two of us....:):)  We'll be back Sunday night.   I'll miss my kids, it will be so quiet:)  Okay, enough about my vacation.  I'll tell you all about it when I get back.

I've been working in my studio...a lot!  I've made some really fun and cute things.  I'm starting to add to my shop on Etsy, a little at a time.  I'm planning on doing a boutique in May so I'm keeping a lot of my items for that.  I just need to get my application in now:). 

I ordered new fabric labels for my larger items and they turned out Fabulous!  I can iron on or sew on these labels.  I found them at the Custom Couture Label Company.  Check out her shop on Etsy, she's very talented.  Let me know what you think.

   

I have another new item I fell in love with....it's a Box Wallet by keykalou.  You can purchase the pattern to make these very cute wallets.  Just the right size to hold business cards, lip gloss, money or whatever else you want.  It easily attaches to your keys.  Cute, right! 

What do you think?  I think they are Wonderful:).  The label on this wallet is much smaller than the new label.  I ordered these from Custom Couture Label Company also.  My next order will be for folded labels(they're sewn into a seam).
